The Lunar Prospectrior - NASA's spacecraft to the moon was successfully launched on Jan 6 at 9:38 p.m. EST. the satellite was launched at Cape Canaveral Air Station from Launch Complex 46 (LC46). This was the first time a satellite was launched from LC46. It was the first satellite launxched by NASA that would offer global maps of the moon.
